We are excited to announce that Gary Zuercher, professional photographer and author of The Glow of Paris, The Bridges of Paris at Night, will be at the Mansfield Art Center this month! He will be here from 7:00 to 9:00 on the evening of January 21 for a book signing and Opening Reception of his The Glow of Paris Exhibition.
His book is a perfect display for the coffee table, one that can be picked up, looked through, and enjoyed over and over. The book signing at the Opening Reception is the only appearance Zuercher will be able to make during the exhibition, so be sure to attend. He is planning to leave for Paris shortly after. If you would like a signed copy, but are unable to make the Opening Reception, you may purchase a book in advance. We will be pleased to have it autographed for you!
The Glow of Paris Exhibition is a collection of 86 black and white photographs by Zuercher. These photographs, in the Ansel Adams Tradition, will be on display at the Mansfield Art Center from January 21 through February 26. Supported by gifts from GORMAN-RUPP PUMPS and the OHIO ARTS COUNCIL, the center is thrilled to host such an outstanding exhibition.
Zuercher photographed each of the 35 bridges over the Seine by going out in the Paris night during the winter months. He captured the photographs when there were no people about or when no hint of traffic could be seen crossing the bridges. Hence, we are drawn to the glow of the magnificent city of Paris looming in the background. He spent five years photographing the bridges, after which he then spent another year researching stories and the history of each bridge, as well as developing and mastering the prints.
Gary Zuercher is credited as having both a professional career as a photographer and a successful business career. He has been photographer or provided photography to many companies for brochures, marketing campaigns, advertising, commercial images and publications. He has produced promotional films for many companies during his thirty-year plus career. He is also a commercial multi-engine pilot and other successes include, the starting of the Wave Tec group of companies, which played a huge role in the development of the waterpark industry.
