An Opening Reception and Book Signing celebration was held at the Mansfield Art Center last Saturday evening on January 21, introducing author and photographer, Gary Zuercher. Zuercher’s The Glow of Paris Exhibition is on display at the Mansfield Art Center from January 21 through February 26th. The exhibition showcases work from the author’s award winning book, The Glow of Paris, The Bridges of Paris at Night. The reception was well received, with around 140 guests in attendance, including Mr. Zuercher, who signed autographs in purchased books and calendars.

The event took place in the Main Gallery where guests could walk through the exhibit and enjoy a first preview of Zuercher’s collection of 86 black and white photographs. These photographs of bridges over the Seine River, took Zuercher five years to shoot and another year of research into the history of the bridges. The social event was a nice way for guests to meet the artist and have opportunity to discuss some of the processes of his project.

Scott Ruby, who is Mr. Zuercher’s curator, was also in attendance. Ruby oversees the promoting of the exhibition and he facilitates the selection and arrangement of the photographs.

Also, thank you to our many wonderful volunteers who helped with the food and beverages this evening. Your hard work did not go unnoticed!

The event was the only appearance for Gary Zuercher during the exhibition, as he left to be in Paris shortly after the event. Even if you missed the Opening Reception, you may still visit the Exhibition at the Mansfield Art Center through February 26th. Our gallery shop has the book, The Glow of Paris, The Bridges of Paris at Night, and calendar.

This is an outstanding exhibition you won’t want to miss! We hope to see you here!
