Attention Parents: If your child is attending a morning and afternoon summer camp in the same week then they can bring a packed lunch – and that lunch will be supervised by a teacher.

Students in this camp will explore the different methods of making 3-dimensional art. Various media will be used including plaster, clay, paper, and more! This class will have your kids making art in and outside of the classroom as they explore all the methods of 3-D art. All supplies are included.

Students will discover the friendship and rivalry of Matisse and Picasso through children’s literature, music, and
exploration of their famous artworks.
The children will engage in close observation and discussion of art elements and principles that are the hallmark of Matisse and Picasso’s famous work. Throughout this exploration the students will create a Matisse Cut Paper Project and a Picasso Portrait. Students will be working with oil pastels and cut paper collage. A daily snack will be provided and supplies are included.

Learn the basics of watercolor painting. We will explore simple watercolor techniques and how to use magical powdered watercolor pigments and ink to bring our drawings to life! Includes all materials.

Shibori is known to be one of the oldest fabric dying techniques in Japan. Students must bring their own 100% cotton t-shirt to dye. You will also dye a scarf and hankerchief (provided). Take your tye-dying skills to the next level and learn some new techniques!

The term “Batik” is an Indonesian-Malay word. It’s an ancient wax resist dyeing technique that’s been around for thousands of years. Choose your own design, pattern or picture and recreate it in this exciting and super fun medium. No art experience necessary!
Bring your own food and drinks, listen to music and each person will create their own pen and holder! Learn how to build a “cane” in polymer clay with your own unique design and colors. After this class you can also tour our exhibit in the gallery. What a great date night!

Students will explore hand-building techniques to create sculptures in a real ceramics studio. Students will also be introduced to throwing on the potter’s wheel.

Imagine the ultimate collaborative art form in the hands of the most creative minds on the planet. Your kids. Come together in this one week camp where kids crew up and produce a ‘Come Together’ Remix of the famous Beatles song… set to dubstep and a fun electrified beat. The video may include dialog as well, it’s up to it’s creators!
Each child will be assigned a role for the production: cameraman, director, props, wardrobe, production design, actors. It will be conceived and shot over the course of one week *(five four hour sessions) then screened for you to enjoy.
Filming takes place indoors and outdoors on Art Center grounds with professional equipment, giving the kids plenty of tools and visuals to work with. They will be mentored and guided by Daniel Roemer (kid film expert) with the goal to learn, have fun, and dream about the future… Older kids with technical experience definitely apply!!

Get your child excited about clay at an early age! Most projects in this class will be hand-building yet students will have opportunities to watch demonstrations on the wheel and experiment with throwing with the help of the instructor. Max. of 8 children.
