John Donnelly

John Donnelly currently lives and works as an artist and professor in Mount Vernon, Ohio. For the past thirty-six years he has been a professor of art at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned his BFA in Drawing and Painting from the Tyler School of Art and Temple University Abroad , Rome, Italy. He earned his MFA in painting and drawing from Indiana University. He is a recipient of residency fellowships and grants from The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, The Vermont Studio Center, The Clipperton Project in the Faroe Islands, Denmark, The Orein Residency at Mount Savior monastery, NY. He also has received the Ohio Art Council Individual Artists fellowship grant. John has donated artwork every year since 1989 to the Art for Life, Equitus Health auction and fundraiser exhibition. 100% of the sales are for HIV/AIDS research and medical assistance, which has raised millions over the years. In 2023 Donnelly’s work received the highest bid in the live auction hosted at the Columbus Museum of Art. He is represented by Art Access Gallery in Bexley, Ohio. Donnelly’s work is widely exhibited and collected.

Artist and Entry Eligibility:

  1. Open to all Ohio artists.
  2. Each artist may submit up to 10 pieces of artwork.
  3. Artwork in any medium will be considered.
  4. All entries must be the original composition of the artist and owned by the artist. Copies of any kind, AI generated images, or work made from a kit will not be accepted.
  5. All entries must be dry and ready to hang/display using appropriate hanging hardware. (See: Hanging Instructions)
  6. Artwork that has been accepted into a previous CrowFest is not eligible for entry.
  7. Entries may be submitted online through the Mansfield Art Center website.
  8. A 40% commission will be deducted from the sale price of any work sold during the show.
  9. All entries must have a declared insurance value listed. Insurance value is 50% of the Sale/NFS Price.
  10. The MAC cannot accept responsibility for entries not accepted for exhibition, nor for entries which are poorly framed, wired, unrealistically valued, or fragile.
  11. The MAC reserves the right to use selected work for marketing and publicity of CrowFest.
  12. The MAC reserves the right to remove work at any time.
  13. Entries must be delivered in person (no shipping).
  14. Responsibility for accepted work end at 4pm on Oct 17,2026. Work that is not picked up in a timely manner/ without prior arrangements with staff, will be considered a donation.
  15. Summary Card must correspond with entry labels:
    • 2d - place label on the back upper right.
    • 3d - place label on the bottom
  16. Entry of work constitutes acceptance of all started conditions.
