The Art of Yoga

Saturdays from 9 to 10:30 AM | FREE
Begins January 18 (No class on February 16 or February 22)

Yoga is more than a set of physical exercises – it is an invitation to cultivate vitality and peace in every moment of our lives. Join us on Saturday mornings beginning January 18 for a joyful exploration of the art of yoga, as we nurture health and happiness in body, mind and spirit. Through gentle movement, breathing and meditation, we shed stress, restore energy and nurture well-being. All levels of practitioners are welcome, and students are encouraged to tailor the sessions to suit their own needs. No registration is required – simply show up when you are able and bring along a mat, blanket or cushion if you like. Yoga is for everyone – please join us!

MEDITATION IN THE GALLERY

Ongoing (No class on February 10 or February 17)

Join our thriving weekly meditation group as we explore the power of calming the mind and relaxing deeply into the present moment, in a beautiful setting among friends. Together we practice cultivating happiness and peace, even amid the many challenges of life. Our meetings are open to both new and experienced meditators, and include lively discussion, gentle instruction and guided practice. During meditation, practitioners are invited to sit in chairs or on cushions, or even to lie on the ground. No registration is required – simply join us when you are able. The sessions are freely offered, and a donation basket is left out for those who would like to support the program.

Moving like Silk: A gentle introduction to Qigong

MOVING LIKE SILK: A GENTLE INTRODUCTION TO QIGONG
Mondays from 5:30 to 6 PM | FREE
Ongoing (No class on February 10 or February 17)

In this short and sweet movement class we explore gentle practices that strengthen the body, free the breath and steady the mind. Qigong, or Taoist yoga, is a centuries-old discipline that can be practiced by nearly everyone. (You can learn more about Qigong here.) No special clothes or props are required for this flowing, upright practice, which we enjoy outside amid nature’s beauty when we can. (We move inside for winter and inclement weather.) No registration is required – simply join us when you are able. The sessions are freely offered, and a donation basket is left out for those who would like to support the program. Stop in for a quick evening pick-me-up, or use the practice as a prelude to Monday night meditation, which begins directly after this class.
